If you use Google, consider switching to Ecosia Search Engine, a search engine and not-for-profit company that plants and protects trees.
Looking for a new bank? Try ‣, a bank that helps you track the climate impact of your spending.
Consider getting your toilet paper from a company like ‣ who ****donate 50% of their profits to ensure everyone has access to clean water and a toilet.
If you regularly shop on Amazon, check out ‣ for sustainable and plastic-free home and body care goods.

Carpool & Take Public Transit

A recent study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (ICPP) reports that we need to reduce our global emissions by 45% by 2030 to limit warming to 1.5 C. Travel accounts for about 23% of all emissions globally. You can help out by:

Drive less, Carpool and taking public transit whenever possible.
- The average passenger vehicle releases around 4.6 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) every year (see Greenhouse Gas Emissions from a Typical Passenger Vehicle - US EPA)
Walk, ride a bike, or use other alternative methods of travel.
Simply choose not to travel if this is an option to you!

Pick up Trash

Picking up litter is one of the easiest ways you can beautify your local area!

Keep a bag handy when you go out for picking up litter or trash you see while you’re out to properly dispose of later. For more tips, see What You Can Do About Trash Pollution | US EPA!
Contact your local works or parks department and ask to volunteer for cleanup and maintenance projects. You can even offer to host a volunteer clean-up yourself! Learn how at Host Your Own Community Cleanup | OR&R's Marine Debris Program
